Dec. 28th, 2006 @ 09:40 am Walker sighting
I ran into Walker Larsen at Harvest Co-op last night. So random!

Dec. 16th, 2006 @ 08:46 pm Quality Cecily time?
Hi, all! Babysitting request :). Brian's Dad has made a dinner reservation for the whole fam for Saturday, December 23rd (yes, Christmas Eve Eve). I'm not sure of all of your plans for Christmas, if you'll be in town that night or not, but if you will be and want something to do, let me know! We can bring her to your place or you can come here, whatever works best for you. And don't feel obligated, I can probably find a local teenager if need be.

I hope this message doesn't sound spacey, I had two glasses of wine at dinner and I am drunk! What the hell was in that wine?!?!? Better water down my drinks at New Year's...

Dec. 11th, 2006 @ 10:12 pm My stars are in a bad place
So, did everyone hear about the MIT building that was evacuated on Friday? A transformer exploded, killing one N-Star worker, and 800 people were evacuated. Well, that was my building. It was extremely terrifying and I'll tell you all about it in person. I don't really feel like reliving it in writing...

This is how my new job has gone so far...First day, Monday, I was sent home because I was sick. Second day, Tuesday had to stay home with Cecily because she was sick. Tuesday night, my boss' mother died, so she is out of the office from Wednesday, until the following Thursday, In the meantime, the office is moving to a new building so we spend a lot of time packing and preparing for the move (Wednesday - Monday). Tuesday of the second week of my new job, we are all told to stay home because it is moving day. I go into my new office on Wednesday (very nice!), Thursday my boss comes back, which is great, maybe now I can get some guidance, start learning my job. But oh, no, Friday the building catches on fire and we are shut out for most of this week. Is this a crazy way to start a job or what?

So if anyone is home sick or bored this week, let me know 'cause I'm home, too!

Hey, I need ideas for my firm's Christmas party. I'm supposed to bring or wear something having to do with winter movies. I'm totally at a loss. I can't even think of any good movies! Ideas anyone?

Oct. 18th, 2005 @ 09:08 pm Weekend
What are people doing this weekend? Anyone up for doing something low-key Saturday or Sunday? My ideas are either everyone can come over to my place and we can hang out, maybe play a game. (I've been hearing about some game called Apples. Has anyone played this?) Or we could get together at someone else's place and watch a movie or something. My apartment is not exactly well-equipped for media, though it is possible.

Sep. 26th, 2005 @ 10:35 am Weekend over!
Hope you guys had a great Firefly marathon! Thanks for the invite. My weekend ended up being less boring than I expected. Eric Chabot and Jonah showed up so we hung out some Friday night and then Saturday we all went to Chris O'Connor's restaurant for some grub and free appetizers. Pam watched Cecily and it felt so good to get out!

Bif was released from the hospital on Saturday. Apparently the max red blood cell infection rate is 5% with malaria and she had 10%! My grandmother said she was really popular with the med students being such a freak case. She went from ICU to released in one day so I think she was only in ICU because the doctors weren't familiar with the disease.

So Brian's b-day is coming up (Oct. 13) and I was wondering if I have any volunteer babysitters? He would probably want to go out Friday night, Oct. 14. No need for commitment now, I'm just putting out feelers. Pam would probably take her no problem if no one wants to give up their Friday night, but I just thought I'd ask :). Bye!

Sep. 23rd, 2005 @ 03:53 pm Weekend comes
Current Mood: disappointed
I wait all week for the weekend and then Friday comes and I realize I have nothing to do which = boredom which = unhappy. Am going to the Watertown Faire on the Square tomorrow with Cecily. I invited the couple across the street to join me but they are going to Virginia so it's just me and the peanut. Last two weekends were crazy busy, though. This past weekend Bif came up from DC and the parents and Katie came from Maine. There was lots of oohing and aahing over baby girl. Bif started feeling ill on Sunday afternoon and headed back to DC. Now she's in intensive care with malaria and my parents flew down there this morning.

Brian would find this hilarious.

Sep. 15th, 2005 @ 03:01 pm Mega money
So Brian and I had a financial advisor come over the other night because we are supposed to thinking about Cecily's education. She ran some numbers and calculated that by 2022 it will cost $100,000 a year to send a child to Bates! Apparently we have to start putting $866 a month RIGHT NOW in an account that grows by 8% a year in order to have enough to send her there. Insanity.

Sep. 9th, 2005 @ 03:49 pm Summary
Damn it! I just wrote a long entry for my livejournal re-debut then I checked that little question mark down there to see what a 'Tag' was and it got erased!!!! So anyway to sum up, work is boring, this morning I was clipping Cecily's nails and nipped her skin and now she is wearing her first bandaid (which I had to cut down to size because it was too big). Aaaaaah...

Many thanks to mrs_muffin and wildflowersoul for the delish grub. Last night we had stuffed shells and I've been enjoying the pasta salad and chickpeas (my favorite!) for the past few days. I really don't feel like going to the store so your labor is much appreciated!

Many thanks to the Bates gals for the shower this weekend! My baby's room is starting to look more and more like an actual baby's room. (Oh, and Meredith, Brian is very disappointed that you didn't like Jeremy's 'It's a human' idea.)

Anyway, as some of you asked, Brian has posted our baby list.

Garbage rocks my world! Shirley looked superhot in long red locks, short white dress with black belt and fishnets. The show was amazing. Vow and Supervixen were the best ever and they played Cherry Lips in the encore (love that song!).

Good day overall. Before the awesome concert, went to brunch with the Bates girls, had tasty food, then ice cream, and mrs_muffin gave me the cutest little outfit which is now tucked into the baby's dresser. It's hard to believe that in just a couple of months I'll actually be USING that dresser and not just collecting things to put in it.

Mar. 23rd, 2005 @ 10:24 pm Our own pad
So we decided to take the Watertown place. I had a list of six places but we only ended up seeing three for a variety of reasons. The Fenway place which was advertised as a two bedroom, consisted of a kitchen, bathroom, and two 'bedrooms' if you don't have a living room. I don't think so. We saw a great place in Somerville, very similar to the Watertown apartment, but it didn't have a yard or washer/drier. I did like the neighborhood more, though. It seemed so much more lively and was relatively near Tufts and Davis Square. Oh, well, boring old Watertown for us. We move in April 9th and so now we just need to figure out furniture!

On another note, a little old lady insisted on giving me her seat on the train today. I felt terrible.

Mar. 19th, 2005 @ 08:33 am Searching
Current Mood: productive
So the Bri-ster is here to stay and we've already started our apartment hunting. I had found an ad for an apartment at my morning bus stop so we went to see it on Thursday night in Watertown. It's the first floor of a house, huge and beautiful, with all the amenities we could ask for. Only drawback is that it is only 1 mile from where we are now, which means my commute, which I was hoping to cut in half, may be lessened by about 30 seconds. Plus I swore that I would shop around and not just jump on the first opportunity so we are seeing another place today in the Fenway and I'm trying to find a couple others. Brian wants to just take it but I am stubbornly continuing the search, even though I highly doubt we'll find something we'd like more. Besides the place in the Fenway, we're going to see a place in Beacon Hill (a co-worker's), one in Brookline, and one in Somerville. Then we have to find furniture!

Had my 28 week appointment on Thursday. Everything looks good as usual. Now I'm supposed to start going every two weeks.

WBCN I love you! Finally heard Garbage's new single. Like it, except for the chorus, which is a pretty big part of the song, I admit. Ah, Garbage followed by GNR. Loving WBCN.

Mar. 7th, 2005 @ 02:22 pm Tori sold out
Current Mood: disappointed
Sad news. Tori is sold out for April 12th. Last time she came back for a second round so keep your fingers crossed!

In other news, I FINALLY got to talk to Brian last night and feel much better. He is in LA after a crazy week of moving and tying up loose ends, though he has a few more he's trying to take care of. There's a birthday party/dinner next Saturday night for his grandfather in LA so he'll probably fly back on Sunday or Monday. Can't wait!!
